The steering group would like to give a brief update to keep the community in the loop after all the useful responses that we received as replies to the questionnaire/on line survey. You were generous with your opinions and we are now analysing them to steer the next, more detailed, step of the overall survey. The overriding feeling coming through is that the majority of you want to see the character of the village maintained but we will need you to define what is understood by “character” - so look forward to a more in depth question or two about that!
We have received a good response to our approach to land owners/agents for notification of sites which may be put forward to help find where the 80 or so houses which still need to be found to fill the quota set by Hart may go. All these will be notified to the community at a later stage when, once again, your reactions will be sought. It seems that there are more ideas for smaller in-fill sites than for large-scale developments.
There are extremely strong feelings about parking - or the lack of it - so the solutions to that may be a poser.
All of these will be up for discussion, along with an assortment of topics emerging from your opinions, at the next drop in sessions. These will run along the same lines as the first ones and will be on Fri 5th and Sat 7th March at the Methodist Church Hall between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible there.
